CONSENT by Nina Raine, US Premier
Continuing the NYU Grad Acting class of 2020s third year season playing Zara in the US premier of CONSENT by Nina Raine, directed by Mark Wing-Davey. It's premier production at the National Theatre in 2017 received excellent reviews and is incredible relevant in this #MeToo era.
The plot of Consent revolves around a contentious rape case: a working-class woman, Gayle, alleges that she was raped on the night of her sister's funeral, while the accused claims that she consented. The barrister acting for the defence, Edward, and his wife, Kitty, are friends with the case's crown prosecutor, Tim.
Show dates: Wednesday, November 20--Monday, November 25.

Jessica in THE MERCHANT OF VENICE at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey
Amaia is thrilled to be returning to her artistic home, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, to play Jessica in THE MERCHANT OF VENICE. The production will be directed by Tony nominee Robert Cuccioli and will begin previews May 17.
A synopsis on MERCHANT by STNJ: "A money-obsessed, patriarchal, dysfunctional society where wealth bestows power; one in which women cannot determine their own fate, and one marked by religious and racial prejudice. Sound familiar? Shakespeare's dark comedy could not be more resonant for our time. A play that offers no true villains or heroes, his Venice presents a culture as complex and troubling as our own, where the situations and questions posed ask us to examine the "quality of mercy" in myriad ways."
